There are trails at the North end of Desert Hot Springs. It is open year round to all hikers. Big Morongo Canyon Preserve is located in the western extension of the Little San Bernardino Mountains. This area is characterized by steep canyons and desert. The area is high in natural diversity because of its location in the transition between the Colorado and Mojave Deserts. The Preserve is home to a desert oasis and marsh that is one of the 10 largest cottonwood and willow riparian habitats in California. It is one of the most important bird habitats in California. The north end of Desert Hot Springs is where this quote is located.
