About This Trail
The Scales trail leads to the Bearpen Trail, which goes across the Appalachian Trail and ends at First Peak trail. The Little Wilson creek Wilderness Area contains 2 miles of this trail. The trail is very muddy for walking and is used by horseback riders a lot. There are parts of the trail that are not nice. You will do rock hopping to stay out of the mud.
