About This Trail
The ashfall site includes fossils of ancient animals that perished in a thick ashfall. This is an excerpt from a previous article about the close-up view of paleontologists during the summer field season. The picturesque Verdigre Creek valley gives Ashfall it's name. Nature trails were formed in order to aid in understanding the flora and fauna of the area. Campers can take advantage of the park's nearby grove lake and wildlife management area.
