About

Koreshan State Park is located in Estero, Florida, along U.S. Highway 41 at Corkscrew Road. The park is named after the Koreshan Unity, a religious community founded in the late 19th century by Cyrus Teed, who believed in a unique cosmology and communal living. The area is distinctive not only for its historical significance as the site of the Koreshan settlement but also for its lush natural surroundings, including a variety of ecosystems such as pine forests, wetlands, and riverfront areas. Visitors to Koreshan State Park can enjoy activities such as hiking, canoeing, and fishing. The park offers several trails for exploration and provides access to the Estero River, where canoe rentals are available. Parking is typically available on-site, and it's advisable to check the weather before your visit, as conditions can vary. As with all state parks, it's important to verify hours, fees, and any potential closures on the official state site before visiting.
