Overview:The Bloody Shins Trail System offers dozens of multi-use trails for mountain biking, horseback riding, and hiking within convenient access from the neighborhoods of Winnemucca, Nevada.Camping: There are no designated campsites, but visitors can overnight RVs and trailers in the BLM parking area.Vehicle Access: The parking area is located at the end of a neighborhood road. A high-clearance vehicle is not required.Activities: Popular activities include mountain biking, horseback riding, and hiking.Point of Interest:The Bloody Shins Trail System is a popular mountain biking destination at the outskirt of the city of Winnemucca, Nevada. While the main activity is mountain biking, visitors can also enjoy horseback riding, hiking along the dozens of multi-use trails.The main attraction is the “Bloody Shins Trail” which offers either a 12-mile or 17-mile mountain biking loop with distinct beginner, intermediate, and advanced sections.Know Before You Go:Watch for horseback riders and cattle.Cell service is limited along the trail system.There is no drinking water.Prepare for sun exposure. There is no shade.In places the trails can be difficult to determine.Bikers should yield to hikers. Both hikers and bikers should yield to horses.
