About this unit
East Carbon and west Albany counties wrapping the east flank of the Snowy Range (Medicine Bow Mountains). Lodgepole climbs to spruce-fir and alpine tundra above 12,000 feet on Medicine Bow Peak. Predominantly Medicine Bow National Forest with the Savage Run Wilderness on the south.
