About this unit
Central Las Animas County wrapping the Picket Wire Canyonlands and the central Comanche National Grassland. Short-grass prairie steps off into deep canyons cut by the Purgatoire River; pinyon-juniper on the canyon walls. Predominantly National Grassland with significant private ranch ground.
