Unit 76 · Saguache / Crestone
About this unit
East Saguache County wrapping the northern Sangre de Cristo crest and the San Luis Valley floor near Crestone. Sage and grassland on the valley floor at 7,500 feet climb steeply through aspen to alpine tundra above 14,000 feet on the Crestone peaks. Predominantly Rio Grande National Forest with the Sangre de Cristo Wilderness on the high country and Great Sand Dunes NP on the southern boundary.
