Unit 75 · Hermosa / Animas
About this unit
Central La Plata and north Montezuma counties wrapping the Animas River drainage between Durango and the San Juan crest. Pinyon-juniper and oakbrush on the lower slopes climb through aspen to spruce-fir on the high ridges near the Weminuche Wilderness. Predominantly San Juan National Forest with the Hermosa Creek Wilderness on the high country.
