About this unit
Central Montrose and Ouray counties wrapping the central Uncompahgre Plateau. Pinyon-juniper and oakbrush on the lower benches climb to aspen and Douglas-fir on the plateau top at 9,000 feet. Predominantly GMUG National Forest and BLM with significant Ute Tribal ground on the southern edge.
