The Windsor Dam Campground will remain closed for the 2018 camping season. Stevens Lake and Luna-White Deer Lake campgrounds are other Forest Service campgrounds near Windsor Dam. If you are looking for a base camp that was designed with anglers and hunters in mind, try the Windsor Dam Recreation Area off Highway 70 east of Eagle River. The Windsor Dam Recreation Area on the Eagle River District consists of a quiet and secluded campground with 8 campsites equipped with picnic tables and vault toilets located along the North Branch of the Pine River. Camp next to the river and enjoy the beautiful sound of falling water as it cascades downstream. Did you forget something? Don’t sweat it! The small town of Iron River can meet your camping supply needs ranging from groceries to firewood. So, if you enjoy fishing, canoeing, kayaking, whitewater paddling or hunting for deer and grouse, then the Windsor Dam Recreation Area is the place for you, conveniently located just 23 miles east of Eagle River.
