Whitten Park Campground attracts thousands of outdoor enthusiasts for picnicking, fishing and swimming on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway. Easy access to three boat docks, nature trails and a sandy swimming beach with a gazebo overlooking the waterway, make Whitten Park a welcoming destination for campers. Whitten Park is also referred to as Fulton Campground because of its location in Fulton, Mississippi. Recreation Anglers can try their luck on the fishing dock or go off-shore in search of bass and crappie. Hikers will enjoy many nature trails, which weave through wooded wildlife habitats. Facilities The campground offers 60 sites with electric and water hookups. The three camp loops provide easy access to playgrounds, laundry facilities and showers. Natural Features The Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway extends 234 miles from the Tennessee River to the junction of the Tombigbee River in Alabama. The man-made waterway connects the nation's midsection of commercial water transportation with the Gulf of Mexico. Features include ten lock and dams, Gainesville Lake, Aliceville Lake, Columbus Lake and Aberdeen Lake. Nearby Attractions Tupelo, Mississippi, known as the birthplace of Elvis Presley, is 15 miles west. ADA Access: N WHITTEN PARK CAMPGROUND, also known as the Fulton Campground, is a Class “A” facility. Each site has an impact pad, grill, picnic table, lantern post, and electric and water hookups. Each is conveniently located near restroom, shower, and laundry facilities, playgrounds, and nature trails. The campground also contains a sanitary dump station, numerous boat docks, and a beach area complete with overlooking gazebo. Some of the campsites are handicapped-accessible. In addition, there is a day-use area providing multi-purpose game courts, a playground, three picnic shelters that can be reserved, restrooms, and an open picnic area. The boat ramp is open 24 hours for your convenience. Registered campers may use any day-use facility on the Waterway without charge. CAMPGROUND RESERVATIONS Information on campground reservations may be obtained by calling the Whitten Historical Center at (662)862-5414. To contact Whitten Park Campground, call the gatehouse at (662) 862-7070. Whitten Park Campground is administered by Bay Springs Site Office, Corps of Engineers. The Corps is continually striving to meet the needs and desires of our visitors, and we welcome any comments about our parks or camping policies. Our office hours are 7:30 a.m. through 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
