Twin Rivers Campground is the best kept secret in North Carolina. The confluence of the North and South Forks of the second oldest river in the world is only a 20 minute walk from the South Fork. The New River was declared a National Heritage River by President Clinton in 1997. It is intended to highlight the way in which rivers unite the regions through which they flow, and that is what the title is about.
