About
The inland sea that once covered the Tumey Hills can be seen on the ground. The light porous rocks are made of tiny, bleached, shell-like skeletons of sea algae. In springtime, annual grassland are lovely with beautiful wildflower displays. The San Joaquin kit fox, leopard lizard, and giant kangaroo rats are rare. Visitors can use the day use facility with parking, shade structures, picnic benches, vault toilets and an interpretive kiosk.
