While visiting the backcountry is a great way to experience Grand Teton National Park, a trip into the backcountry requires advance planning. Backcountry camping permits are issued on a first-come, first-served basis no more than one day before the start of your trip. Visit the backcountry reservations page to learn more about the reservation process and submit a reservation. Trapper Lake is located in Grand Teton National Park, in the U. S. state of Wyoming. Trapper Lake is only 0.10 mi (0.16 km) north of Bearpaw Lake and at the eastern base of Mount Moran. The lake can be accessed on foot by the Leigh Lake Trail which is an easy 4.6-mile (7.4 km) hike on level terrain.
