Fueled by water released from Rimrock Dam for irrigation purposes, the Tieton's steep gradient produces eighteen miles of narrow and swift class III+ whitewater leading to the Naches River. We have lots to offer the fisherman whether it’s the Yakima canyon area , the Tieton, Naches or Yakima rivers or the local lakes there is lots of fish. The main industry is agriculture that flourishes through producing and processing tree fruits, hops, mint, vegetables, livestock, dairy and wine. The extended growing season and rich soil provide the perfect conditions to produce grapes excellent for wine making. The Wine industry in the Yakima Valley has boomed in recent years, with international recognition of Yakima wines and vineyards. Here in Washington's Premium Wine Region you can visit wineries and find fresh produce nearby in season.
