Thompson Reservoir Campground is a developed campground located 40 minutes south of Silver Lake, Oregon. There are 19 campsites with picnic tables. Other amenities include hand-pumped water and toilets. There is a large group site. Tall ponderosa pines and a few aspen trees are found over the high mountain setting of Thompson Reservoir. Recreation opportunities include hiking, fishing, and exploring. The boat launch is located at the lake where rainbow trout are stocked. The campground usually opens in May and closes in October. The campground is not used in the winter and early spring because of the heavy snowfall. The East Bay campground is located across the Thompson Reservoir.
