About

Located in the Hudson Valley, our signature campsite sits near the Shawangunk-Kill Stream, tucked away in the peaceful, sun-dabbled woods. Relax on Adirondack chairs overlooking the stream and enjoy the gentle sound of the water. Cook and make s'mores over a weather-proof covered fire pit, and explore your surroundings via short, well-marked trails through the woods. The cozy & spacious tent sleeps two in the queen bed, with room for two additional guests on the floor (byo sleeping bags). There is also a separate pop-up tent that can sleep two (a rainproof canopy is provided). You'll be able to drive right up to the site down a marked car trail. We're here to make your stay as relaxing and fun as possible, so don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything. Activities in the Area: There's plenty of nature to explore nearby. Within a 10-minute drive are the Middletown Reservoir hiking trails and the Moonbeans Preserve, which also has hiking. Also close by is the Basha Kill Wildlife Preserve, a popular birding area (locals go there to check out a bald eagle's nest). You're within a 15 minute drive of the town of Middletown, which has restaurants and entertainment, or check out the Fair Oaks Drive-In, a charming outdoor movie theater, and the local favorite Twin Cones ice cream. Kids will love the very popular LegoLand Resort in Goshen, which is less than 30 minutes away, while adults can explore the Basha Kill winery. If you're here in the fall, go apple picking at Soon's Orchard and check out their farm market, cider mill, and tap room. To use, first line the bucket with one of the provided blue CleanWaste Sani-Bags. When you're ready to leave, simply tie up the bag and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that keeps the toilet safe and clean. Toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and deodorizer are included. Extra toilet paper can be found inside the plastic box next to the garbage can. Final Important Note: The land on which the campsite resides is privately owned and used for hunting at times throughout the year, strictly by our family (bow-only, no firearms). No hunting of any kind will take place during your stay, but note that you may observe tree stands that have been installed for this purpose and stay up year-round. The Space: Under 2 hours from NYC is our secluded, stream-side premium campsite in the Hudson Valley Guest Access: This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with land owners to offer unique accommodations in beautiful outdoor spaces. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature! Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed with a memory foam mattress. The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that___s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night. Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean. Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days. What you should bring: -S'mores supplies & any food you'd like to eat -A cooler to keep your grub from spoiling -Bedding and pillows Firewood Interaction with Guests: Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location. If a Tentrr Host submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the host's property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set! Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your confirmation email. Your Tentrr Host is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf, and they are unable to waive any cancellation fees (if applicable). If you have any questions regarding modifications to your booking, please reach out to Tentrr Customer Support. Other Things to Note: --Please, leave no trace. Pack out everything you bring in, including all garbage and used toilet bags. --No food inside the tent. --Please remove shoes inside the tent. Mats and a boot tray are provided. --Please keep the fire pit inside the ring of stones (do not move) and please keep all fires contained within the pit. Do not make fires anywhere else. --Do not leave food out, as it will attract critters. Pack all food inside a cooler and store inside your vehicle or locked in the critter-proof box. --Do not use the stream for bathing or for washing dishes, as soap and detergent will harm the ecosystem. --Carefully pack up the pop-up tent if you used it. --When you leave, please zip up all tent windows and doors (clasps, too). --Our woods are a sanctuary for the wildlife that live there.
