About
Hey, Friends! We are a working farm, so we do have animals on site, and a Braying cute white mini donkey! if you're an animal lover we would love to give you a tour! We have 50 acres of woods for you to explore or our riding trail, which is a couple mile hike. We are just a short 3 mile drive to Damariscotta Lake Park where you can swim, picnic, or enjoy a sweet ice cream at the Jefferson Scoop! Head to the town of Damariscotta and you can find Kayak rentals, quaint bars and restaurants or join one of the many river cruises! If you need a place to stay when your kids are at the Wavus camp, we are a 5min drive.
Just 40 minutes you can find Pemaquid park which has an awesome lighthouse. Boothbay Harbor or Rockland have some amazing Lobster or seafood. 2hrs from Acadia National park! Join a whale watch, try some Disc golf!
We can hook you up with the best sights, just let us know what you want to see or do and we are more than happy to point you to it! If you would rather stay in and enjoy the scenery and a good book that is ok too! The big tent can hold 4 with its queen bunk beds, you can also rent the second tent we have available, or bring your own tents if you need more room! There is plenty of parking if needed. The beds are heavy duty camping air mattresses, and they do NOT come with bedding. If you need bedding you can add that as an extra. We find most campers like to bring their own. :)
**If you are not wood stove savvy and prefer a heater, I can put in the buddy heater, you can purchase your own canisters and bring them, or purchase them from me $10 canister. Let me know ahead.
The Space:
**Welcome Leaf Peepers and Snowmobilers! The woodstove is back in, and we are staying open through winter this year! (Ask about Friday Ice fishing with Shawn) We are located right on a snowmobile trail, lots of snowshoeing trails, cross country ski? You can even ice fish on Damariscotta lake! Check with me about temps and snow amounts. Sit back and relax at our Maine campsite, this site is set off from the road to give it plenty of privacy, there is a short 5 min walk from where you park to the site. If you need help, give us a shout and we can try to coordinate to meet you. We are located a bit over an hour to Portland and 22 mins from Damariscotta and the beautiful Maine coast! Nestled in the woods, a great place to enjoy nature but close enough to enjoy many of the tourist attractions that Maine has to offer. Farmers markets, craft breweries. This site has upgrades! We have an outhouse, pump sink, we have a charcoal and propane grill you can use, you can purchase propane canisters/briquettes from us, or bring your own! You can also cook on the fire! Dogs & Kids are welcome. Battery powered lights can add romantic ambiance! You can check us out on FB to see a video tour! https://www.facebook.com/JourneysNdFarm
Guest Access:
This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with land owners to offer unique accommodations in beautiful outdoor spaces. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature!
Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed or a queen-size bunk bed (see photos for the exact setup). The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that___s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night.
Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation.
Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.
Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.
What you should bring:
-S'mores supplies & any food you'd like to eat
-A cooler to keep your grub from spoiling
-Bedding and pillows
-Firewood for the campfire
Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location on the property.
If a CampKeeper submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the CampKeeper___s property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!
Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your reservation confirmation on Airbnb. If you need to cancel or modify your reservation, please reach out to Tentrr Customer Support. Your CampKeeper is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf. Tentrr Customer Support can be reached at (888) 798-9093 or at hello@tentrr.com.
Other Things to Note:
We do spray the site for Ticks, but.. Do bring bug spray! This is the Maine woods! We do have mosquitoes and ticks! This is camping, there is a outhouse, sink and solar shower. Maine is dark at night so bring your flashlights:) We have a charcoal grill, and one that requires small propane canisters, so bring a bag of charcoal or a propane canister if you want to cook on the grill. Please do not feed the animals without asking, or touch the fences, they hurt! If you are allergic to animals or the smells of horses, and farm animals this may not be the site for you.
