About

Sunrise Point is a micro climate of the Santa Cruz Mountains with an elevation of 2,000 feet about sea level. Sometimes above the fog and clouds and some times in the thick of it! You will be surrounded by Bay(Myrtle), Black Oak, Madrone, Big Leaf Maple and Douglas Fir trees. Sunrise Point is where Gia-Fu Feng and Jane English translated the LAO TSU, TAO TE CHING between 1968-72. An older contemporary of Confucius. The site is one of the originating points for the San Lorenzo river as a very slight trickle during the heavy rains. There is a private road and a few short trails to walk on with benches to sit and take in the beauty of the sights and sounds. As with everything the trade off is that you can still hear some traffic from Bear Creek and our neighborhood rooster for your morning wake up call.
