~What a quiet Lake to swim, fish, picnic or BBQ, here's where the locals go: Beardsley Lake just 30 minutes from Sugar Bear Cabin.
~ Black Oak Casino which also offers bowling, a video arcade and snacks for guests of all ages on the lower level. It's an easy short 15 minute drive through a lovely country road just off of the Sonora Pass Highway.
THINGS TO NOTE:
~All dishes need to be washed and put back in its correct cabinet. Please make sure butcher block knives are put back as it is a child friendly cabin.
~Guests who stay less than a week are required to take their garbage back with them to dispose. That includes wastebasket garbage and garbage stored outside for overflow. My cleaner checks after every stay to ensure no guest will arrive with someone elses garbage. Due to bears and other wildlife who are attracted to the smell of garbage I elected to not provide garbage service. You can opt out for an extra $45 fee for 1-3 bags, or $65 for 4-6 bags. I have a local hauler available but I need advance notice at booking for this option. Another option is to dispose your garbage at Pinecrest Transfer Station. It is located a few minutes from the cabin. Please check for days and times the transfer station is open. Guests staying 7 days or or more do not have to carry out their garbage.
~Do not leave any items in the refrigerator. It must be left empty except for the condiments on the side shelf. I have no way to dispose of them. Please be courteous for the next guest. You arrived with a cleared out refrigerator, please leave with a cleared out refrigerator.
~The Upstairs Bathroom Heater works but cannot be used. It's old school and a Fire Hazard. The knob is taped. The towel bar is above the heater and guests have left it on and scorched towels. Please be aware of this and talk to children who are guests and tell them to not turn on or touch the heater.
~Please don't move the furniture inside of the cabin or outside of the cabin.
~ WIFI is ONLY for browsing places to visit, checking email or making a phone call. I allow 2 GB per STAY. If you use over 2GB I will have charge $10 for every 2 GB used. That's what I'm charged. Please don't stream or look at social media. If you want to browse for other items or stream please disconnect from the cabin's WIFI. The only plan I was offered has limited GB. I keep pocket WIFI for emergencies so please respect that rule. ATT and T-Mobile work at the cabin. Thank you for understanding.
~In the event of a power outage, we have added battery operated lights scattered throughout the cabin. They will work just like a regular light when you flip the switch on. I recommend you put your refrigerated item in the freezer. The water is public so it should stay on. The water heater is a tank so you should get a couple of hot showers.
No refunds given unless the power remains off during your entire stay and you had to leave back home when you got to the cabin.
~We have CDC-guided cleaning processes that help ensure a safer stay. Items that cannot be washed (sponges) are new for every visitor. Every duvet covers, blankets, towels, sheets, rugs and pillowcases are washed after each visit and all items are wiped down. Bathrooms are thoroughly cleaned, and the whole cabin is mopped and vacuumed after each visit. I work with two local professional cleaners to assure high cleaning standards.
~There's a portable crib for infants. I need a prior heads up for the crib as it has to be set up.
Feel free to discuss any concerns you may have regarding my things to note prior to your visit. We're always willing to work with our guests.
Our family truly appreciates each guest and we truly hope you enjoy your stay at Sugar Bear Cabin!
