Star Island is located in the middle of a lake in a national forest. "Star Island" is the largest of the four islands. Star Island has over eight miles of shoreline and 980 acres of public and private land. There are six miles of trails on the island that are open for hiking and nature study. The campground is located on the southwest shore of the island. Campers have to provide their own water and pack their refuse. Lake Windigo is inside Star Island. "Ripleys Believe It or Not" is how the special location was described. It's
