It is required for backpackers to have a Backcountry Permit in Big Bend National Park. A permit is needed in the wilderness. Your permit will specify your specific sites. Obtain a permit through www.recreation.gov for 6 months to a year. The campers using this campsite must pack their waste with a waste disposal kit. There are personal waste systems available online and at the park. Humans and other animals are not allowed. In order to keep things organized at the campsite, be sure to use the bear box.
