The Scab Creek Recreation Area is located in a beautiful and secluded lodge pole pine setting at 8,200 feet tucked in the foothills of the Wind River Mountains. There are nine campsites with fire pits and picnic tables. This is a free site. Trail leads south through BLM lands, then into the wilderness past Scab Lake to a multitude of lovely alpine lakes. The site is open from May 1st through November 15th. There are biting flys and mosquitoes from June through mid-August. This is Bear country.
