About

The campground is located near the timberline. At 7500 feet, it's called Shasta. There are 15 sites within a short walk of your vehicle. Bring your own water or purify the water nearby. The limit is 3 days. It is possible to register on site. It usually opens around July 1st and closes in November. The highest campground on the mountain has open views. There are two small moorlands a short distance from the campground. The meadow is fragile and great care must be given by all who visit. In recent years, a major effort has been made by local tribes, volunteers, and the Forest Service to re-vegetate the native species.
