Open Pond Recreation area has a variety of recreational opportunities. The campground at Open Pond has primitive sites, electric hook-ups, and water, and is accessible by boat, hiking, and bicycle riding. The Open Pond Recreation Area has a day-use area that is designed for peaceful picnicking. The Civilian Corps built a group shelter in the 1930's.
