About
A Private fully fenced 4-acre horse property in Whetstone, AZ, I also own the adjacent 4 acres which is natural. I am currently making trails through that parcel for riding and hiking. I offer two RV spaces with hookups, one has an RV cover large enough to accommodate a large motorhome, this cover is 13' high, so make sure your rig will fit, including any A/C units on your roof. There is also plenty of room for tent campers. I have another listing for tent camping that offers 1 site. It's called Additional camping. Women campers welcome, this is a safe non-creepy place to stay. The property has views of Whetstone and Huachuca Mountains. Whetstone is a dark skies place, we have stars! (not the snotty arrogant kind) There is a private pool and pool house, my garage has a restroom, refrigerator, and a microwave and coffee table. The pool is solar heated, during warmer months it reaches 80+ degrees. I offer Western riding lessons for an extra fee.
I have 2 cabanas available for campers' use, they are not sleeping facilities, they have tables and chairs. Wildlife visit here and are welcome. I have a very clean landscaped property. The road is also quiet. I am off Hwy 82, there is some hwy traffic noise. I have neighbors, some have dogs, but they don't bark too much. I don't have dogs, because I love the peace and quiet. It's 20 miles to Sonoita, 15 miles to Sierra Vista, 21 miles to Tombstone. 37 miles to Bisbee, 10 miles to Kartchner Caverns. 63 miles to Tucson (I-10 and hwy 19), 20 miles off the 10 freeway. My property is natural on 3 sides. Across my road is a small storage unit and neighbors. You can't see them from the RV area or backyard. Looking North, West and South are all-natural views.. 4200 ft elevation. Excellent views. Camping spots are dirt and gravel.
Power is 50 AMPS! Please bring an adapter if needed.
Summer is our monsoon season, July-September. Be aware that this area gets approx 22" of rain, mostly during summer. Beautiful storms, lots of lightning. It is hot and humid and buggy if it's an above-average monsoon season. June-High 94. Average 81, Low 66 July- High 92, Average 80, Low 70 Aug- High 90, Average 78, Low 68 Sept- High 87, Average 75, Low 64 I have a drone video of the property. Videos can be viewed on my website www.karlashummingbirdranch.com, and on YouTube, it's titled "A day of riding at Karla's Hummingbird Ranch". And my recent campers made a video review of my place, also on Youtube titled "Karla's Hummingbird Ranch Hipcamp". I am happy to accommodate private custom family/group gatherings. You can have the place to yourselves. Message me with your needs. This is a peace and quiet property. No hunters please.
2-21-22 UPDATE: My new RV drive and gates are finished! Now ANYTHING can drive right in. The new driveway is before my first gate, a dirt road on the left after the frontage road. The gates are 20' wide. Drive straight down the fenceline to the RV area located at the far north end of the property. Please see my photos detailing where the driveway is and the sign.
I am a riding instructor and I was a ranch manager in Sonoita for a large estate. I have spent this year turning this beautiful property into something others can also enjoy! I love living here! It's tranquil and very beautiful and quiet. Amazing sunsets and views. Hummingbirds, quail, birds all visit. I don't have dogs, the only barking you might hear is from other properties, we all have 4 acres or more, so no one is super close by. You can come here, walk or bike around, walk your pets without being bothered by other dogs. I left CA because I was burned out by constant noise.
