About

The campground is located on the south side of the road. There are 10 sites, one of which has tables and fire rings. The roads and parking spurs are gravel. There are vault toilets and a swimming beach. There are two fire rings and picnic tables at the beach. The campsite can open at 7 am after closing at 10 pm. When access permits, the gate closes for the season on December 1st. The Howard brothers, Alfred and Benjamin, were named for Howard Lake and Howard Creek. When Benjamin died at the age of 80, these two miners were among the earliest to file and work claims.
