About

The park is just a short walk from the city and has plenty of places to cool off in the water. The cannon and guns are not being used anymore. The soldiers no longer guard a strategic river crossing and the Seminole Indians no longer have to fight to keep their foothold in Florida. The fort and its surroundings are now part of a park. Kayaking or canoe class II river rapids are rare in Florida, and visitors can hike seven miles of nature trails and swim in an accessible swimming pool. The camping area of the state park is close to the bustling city of Tampa.
