The Hells Canyon National Recreation Area is located in Oregon and Idaho. The Hells Canyon National Recreation Area - Idaho section includes all developed recreation sites and trails that are not located in the Wild and Scenic Snake River. The recreation area sections of the Hells Canyon NRA contain all the upland sites and trails. The Hells Canyon Wilderness, Black Lake, Heavens Gate Lookout, and Seven Devil recreation areas are popular. Local Idaho communities have a variety of services. Riggins, Grangeville, Whitebird, Council, and Cambridge are the places to stay. These communities are close to this area.
