About
The area around Pitkin Campground is popular for four-wheel driving in the summer and fall. There are many high-clearance roads in this mountainous region. The area north and east of Pitkin was part of the mineral belt. The roads were created by miners over 100 years ago. Snowmobilers, cross-country skiers and snowshoers use the Pitkin campground as a winter trailhead.
