There are hiking trails on the south side of the Byway. There is a short interpretive trail that leads up to the summit. It is located at the west end of the parking area. It is said that developed campgrounds include Burning Bear. The Arapaho National Forest is located on the north side of the byway. campgrounds include Clear Lake and Guanella Pass.
