Cougar Reservoir Area

In the summer months, there's a lot to see at the Cougar reservoir. It is located outside of Blue River on the west slopes of the Byway. There are no campgrounds in the Cougar Recreation Area. There are three developed campgrounds around the reservoir and surrounding areas. There is a hot springs near Rider Creek. In the late summer and early fall of the year, the water levels in the dam are often drawn down to make room for boat launches that no longer exist. There is information on the level of the water in the United States. Consider obstructions located near the shoreline such as logs and rocks. It's wise for small crafts to stay out of the open waters when it's windy.
