About
There are several hiking trails that lead into the north half of the Pecos Wilderness. The Amenitites have picnic tables, firepits and small corrals for horses at each site. The Vaulted toilet isn't in use. The Rio Medio Trailhead is located to the south of the campground. The campground is primitive and less developed than most of them. It is primarily used for picnicking by locals from nearby communities, as well as for overnight stays by those who use it for a backpack or horsepack. There is ample space for camping but not a dump station. There is no drinking water and no campground host.
