Bootleg River Campground

Overview Bootleg is a boat-in campsite along the Green River, located about 1 mile below Little Hole Boat Ramp at an approximate elevation of 6,000 feet. This site can also be accessed by foot on an unofficial trail. The Green River provides spectacular fishing and river-running opportunities, as well as unique geology, outlaw history and Native American rock art. Natural Features: The campground is situated alongside the beautiful Green River in an area typical of a high desert environment. Shady juniper, cottonwood and ponderosa pine trees forest the riverbank. Summer wildflowers dot the landscape. Recreation: The Green River offers excellent fishing for rainbow, brown and cutthroat trout. Rafting and kayaking are very popular activities. Facilities: Bootleg contains one reservable campsite equipped with a picnic table, campfire ring with benches, tent pads and a blind for a portable toilet. Nearby Attractions: Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area is known not only for its beautiful red cliffs but also for its world-class fishing. Boating, water skiing, jet skiing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and scuba diving are also popular activities on the reservoir. Flaming Gorge Dam offers guided tours of the working hydroelectric plant and the dam itself; the adjacent visitor center contains area history exhibits.
