About
The Imperial Dam Long Term Visitor Area was created in 1983 to fulfill the needs of winter visitors and to protect the local desert ecology from being over-used. The campground is 3,500 acres in size and has plants such as creosote bushes, palo verde trees, ironwood trees and mesquite trees. Imperial Dam is a desert landscape with a variety of recreational opportunities, including hiking, swimming, boating, and fishing.
