Please call the local BLM office if you have any questions. It is damaged from river flooding. The Howrey Island Recreation Area is located in the middle of a river, but it's not in danger. This is a pack in and pack out area. Some roads may be closed due to high river flows. The entire area is open to visitors, no matter what happens. It's possible to go camping overnight. It is not permitted to use fireworks. Explanation: Be aware of seasonal and area fire restrictions.
