About
Beaver Creek Cabin is located deep within Gallatin National Forest, in an area that offers a variety of recreational activities. West Yellowstone, Montana and YellowstoneNational Park are only a short drive away. The cabin is accessible by vehicle when theres no snow, but winter access is only by snowmobile, skis or snowshoes for about 3.5 miles. Guests are responsible for their own travel arrangements and safety, and must bring several of their own amenities. Natural Features: The cabin sits at an elevation of around 7,000 feet, in a wooded canyon near Beaver Creek and the Lee Metcalf Wilderness. It is nestled within the Madison Range and tucked beneath 11,316-foot Hilgard Peak, the highest in the range. Visitors to this area may see an abundance of wildlife, such as deer, elk, grizzly bears, moose, gray wolf, bighorn sheep and Canada lynx. A variety of bird speciesalso inhabit the area. Recreation: Several trailheads near the cabin lead into the Lee Metcalf Wilderness. These trails take hikers and equestrians to high mountain lakes within the Madison Range. Winter activities include snowmobiling, showshoeing and cross-country skiing. Hunting and fishing are available nearby. Hebgen Lake is within 10 miles, offering many other recreational opportunities. Facilities: The cabin accommodates a maximum of four people and is equipped with a wooden sleeping loft and two bunk beds with mattresses. A wood stove heats the cabin, and firewood is provided. Other amenities include basic cookware, dishes, an axe, shovel, broom, mop, fire extinguisher and table with chairs. An outhouse is located adjacent to the cabin. A hitching rail is provided for stock. A campfire ring and woodshed containing firewood are behind the cabin. Provided firewood is for interior stove use only; not for outdoor campfire use. Drinking water and electricity are not available. Guests need to bring their own supply of drinking water as well as light sources. Garbage bags are needed to pack out trash. Guests are also expected to clean the cabin before leaving. The cabin does not have cooking facilities. Items such as bedding, matches, extra toilet paper and first aid supplies are not provided. Nearby Attractions: Yellowstone National Park is within 30 miles, making it an ideal day trip from Beaver Creek Cabin.
