About

The desert mountains and the Sonoran plant life can be seen in the area. There is a fair amount of camping and picnicking on the west side of the lake. The dam has been a favorite with fishermen for 75 years. There are several state-record fish caught there. The 1977 Small-mouth Bass state record was seven pounds. The state record for carp is still 37 lbs. 5 ounces. The catfish are in the depths. A fish-habitat improvement project is called Fish City.
