About

Near Interlochen, lakes and the Betsie River are my 5 rustic campsites located on the back 8 acres of Almira’s 1875 homestead. The campsites are positioned on a natural sandy meadow on a low sloping hill surrounded by sugar maple dominant hardwoods and scattered apple trees from a bygone era Each site has a picnic table, fire ring and waste bin - Porta potties and wash sinks are centrally located to campsites. Potable water, sink and A Hot Outdoor Shower are located at the campers station where you will also find A Keurig coffee maker and power strip for charging devices. Almira’s Borrow cupboard are full of supplies that you may use at no cost. Wood bundles for purchase are in the old grey shed next to campers station A quick 3 minute drive to Karlin is the Karlin Inn- a family friendly place with good food, good drinks and good prices. Next door is Mikowski’s - a market, deli, butcher with to-go food and liquor/beer. Nearby Interlochen has a full service grocery store 10 minutes to the north is Interlochen State Park with beaches for swimming and the Betsie River for kayaking. 10 minutes to the south is the trailhead of the Betsie Valley Trail- 22 miles long to Crystal. 20 minutes south is the trailhead of the Manistee River. 25 minutes west is Crystal lake.
