About This Trail

The Land Trust trail offers a view of the Middle Yuba River and the peaks of the Sierra Nevada. From Nevada City, take Highway 49 towards Camptonville and then take a left on Marysville Road. Rice's Crossing Preserve is 1.3 miles from the dam. The road to the North Meadow is crossed by a rock quarry. The trail has nice views at the beginning and at the turn-around, and there is a nice spot to eat a snack or lunch in the shade. The trail is maintained by the Bear Yuba Land Trust. The trail is moderate and can get very hot.
