Point Reyes Lighthouse Visitor Center Trail [CLOSED]

The stairs may be closed on Tuesday through Thursday. The hike over the paved trail to the Lighthouse was moderate. The trail offers a panoramic view of the California coastline. The Pointremes Lighthouse is at the base of some 300 steps, which is the equivalent of 30 stories. The lens room, which houses the original clockworks and first-order Fresnel lens, is open from 2:30 pm to 4 pm on Fridays and Mondays. The lower chamber of the historic lighthouse has exhibit panels about the history of the light and the keepers. The equipment building next to the lighthouse has a backup power generator and two super typhon foghorns.
