About This Trail
People that are not proficient in navigation will be at risk from the off trail scramble. You should not try if you want a regular hike. A permit needs to be obtained prior to departing the Dan River Hydro Facility. According to this person, the trail goes upstream for about half a mile. The left fork starts on the mountainside, the right fork follows it up the river. It is very strenuous to hike this route. The way to get to the ridge is a right along the crest.
