It is important to remember that the trail is not always dry because a stream feeds a lot of damp moss that makes for slippery conditions on dry days. If you decide to stay on the trail and meet up with Cook Trail, you should add at least one mile to your day. There were many places where upper body strength and hip flexibility were important.
