About This Trail
The path from the parking lot skirts the edge of the sand dune. The top of the dune can be reached by bushwacking 100 or so feet off the trail. The top of the dune has a nice view. You should watch your step once you leave the trail. The nature preserve is named after a man who studied the ecological significance of Illinois' sandy areas.
