Caesars Head Overlook Trail [CLOSED]

Users have reported that the lower view trail has been closed due to dangerous conditions. Refer to the park page for updates. The park is located in northern South Carolina and borders North Carolina. The rock formation is located on the Blue Ridge Escarpment of the Blue Ridge Mountains and rests at a elevation of over 3000 feet above sea level. The outcrop was named after an early mountaineer's dog, though it is not certain if that is the origin of the name. The Department of Parks, Recreation, and Tourism manages the Jones Gap State Park and the Caesars Head State Park.
