About
The Hackberry Pavilion is an excellent place for visitors to spend a day on Lavon Lake. It is located on the south shores of Lavon Lake. The lake is in northern Texas and comes from the East Fork of the Trinity River. The name "hackberry" refers to the tree which thrives in warm areas of Texas. The large mouth bass, white bass, blue catfish and crappie are most common in Lavon Lakes. On the Trinity Trail is where horseback riding and hiking can be found. The pavilion holds 500 people, and the beach is popular during the warm months. Visitors can see lions, leopards, cougars and more at the wildlife rescue center located in the town of Wylie.
