About This Trail
A loop hike is one of the easiest ways to visit many different parts of the terrain. This particular loop hike is up to expectations. Behind the Air Force Academy is a massif with two peaks: Eagle Peak and Blodgett Peak. You'll get to the top of the canyon on the north side, then go down behind the mountain on the western side, and back across the face of the mountain via the portion of the Falcon Trail. You'll see beautiful granite cliffs, aspen groves, and alpine meadow along the way. The family and dog need to be in good physical shape because the trail is steep in many places and can become uncomfortable after rain or horses loosened it. The fact that it is nine miles in length and has 2300 feet of elevation should give you pause.
