Specimen Mountain Crater Trail [CLOSED]

The Specimen and Shipler Mountains are not open to the public during the year. There are off- trail areas to the west and north of Trail Ridge Road, which are closed until an assessment is done to address damage to natural and cultural resources. If you want to see a closed area map, please go to the www.nps.gov/romo. It is forbidden to go to the peak because it's a wildlife area. The views of the never summer wilderness can be seen on the hike to the crater.
